

This being the only human settlement contributed to the really great sense of tension as another human being was about to be eaten by a Titan. What I don’t like about this possibility is that it takes away much of the tension. “I came from beyond the walls, where humanity enjoys a refined existance. This is supported by the phrasing at the end of the chapter: The most predictable and likely possibility (and least interesting for me personally, at it’s most barebones) with this reveal is that the humans inside the walls were locked up by the rest of humanity outside the walls and the Titans are there to keep them in (whatever the reason is), while the rest of the world is wealthy, well-off and actually filled with human settlements. So I’m going to explore all the possibilities I can think of. I feel there’s an entire post to be made about the reveal at the end of the chapter.
